History of the data collection
When the Central Registry of Rare Diseases was launched (in 2014), two genetic centres gathered the first data for the registry.
The number of registering centres is continually increasing, the ultimate aim being to obtain basic data on all Belgian patients with a rare disease. The eight approved genetic centres in Belgium currently gather data for the registry.
